How to recover photos deleted on Android

mishandling, a move too fast, or even a big bug: all this can lead to the removal of a photo. But all is not lost! We offer two methods to recover your deleted on Android photos or bring your files from the dead.

recover deleted photos

first of all, be aware that we must act quickly. If you you realize deleting several weeks or several months after, there is little chance that you can recover photos. Conversely, if you can try the operation just after the mischief, you should recover all deleted photos.

Via your computer (without root)

you don’t need not necessarily of rooting your device to be able to recover photos, files, and videos from your smartphone. You will need to use a computer and software such as Recuva . This program, offered by the same developers who created CCleaner can sometimes work wonders.

  • Connect your device to your computer.

  • run Recuva.

  • select your device from the list at the top left, then click on Scan.

  • when the scan is complete, select the file, and click Recover.

preview of your file is not available, but don’t worry: it’s quite normal. Do well to save your file on your computer this time! Small Tip: with Recuva, you can also mark several files to recover all at the same time, it is particularly convenient if you deleted accidentally a whole folder.

many alternative software to Recuva exist, include 7 – Data Recovery , and it works in much the same way than the one presented above. However, Recuva has allowed me to get the best results. Dr. Fone is also quite popular, but it did not work for me.

You will notice that this operation also allows you to completely clean a smartphone, before selling it for example.

Note: when Recuva ends to find deleted files, try to reinstall it on a different device, one with which you have extracted the pictures. Conflicts sometimes arise

Via an application (root)

Note: for this method, your smartphone must be rooted.

Some applications allow you to carry out this operation directly from your Android device, but you will need to have a smartphone or a Tablet rootee. We can suggest DiskDigger , which allows to find files deleted from your internal memory or even on a microSD card. The advantage of this application is that it allows to choose which part of the system scan.

you run a scan of your device, then select the files you want to recover those Diskdigger was able to recover. The more, it is the preview of the photos, this time you can more easily view the files deleted. The application gives you the possibility to send it by email.

Other solutions, including through computer, exist as Dr. Fone or FonePaw. I refer you to various tutorials written by the past:

one of these two methods has worked for you?
