The recycling and Raspberry Pi in Bedoin (84)


conference_bedoin_250px Saturday, November 26, 2016 was a day devoted to the fight against planned to free software and the Raspberry Pi obsolescence. The MAKE OF RECYCLING is organized for several years by the MJC de Bédoin .
Invited by the association Linux Ventoux , I hosted two conferences to present the Raspberry as well Pi to passionate people who came to find out what was this small computer, we talked in the morning in the newspaper (left picture – released Dauphiné).
Here is a report to this day under the Sun at the foot of the Mont Ventoux and Sunday morning at CourTechZone.

10: 00 conference was attended by twenty participants. Presentation of Raspberry 3 Pi and Pi Zero and its uses in business are on the menu.


there were people from the region of Bédoin but some participants had traveled to Avignon or Pierrelatte (40 and 60 Km).


at the end of the conference I was able to discuss with those who wished, not necessarily as long as desired but it was crowded…

big kids that we are! Alan had brought its Babbage and I did enjoy the trip Scrat and my raspberry 😉 but it will they were very wise and we heard them not of the day.

no complaints about the Organization of this day. The organizers had even provided the Sun! And the association WITH of Mormoiron has kindly prepared a drink based on regional products (bin so it is in the vineyard of the Ventoux) and delicious accompaniments (puffs, gougere, quiche, pie to pumpkin…)

after the grignotis we go to serious things. A solid snack was provided inside with the organizers. It’s Manu (wife of Philippe, host of the Center ERIC) who had prepared everything, including coffee at will during the day. Thank you Manu 🙂

Conference of the afternoon

A the background (top right) you can see some of the material brought back for recycling. The machines that will be will be repackaged with a free OS (Linux Yes bin) and will be offered to schools, associations or people with modest incomes. Still usable material will be recycled (power supplies, drives, memory…). Non-recoverable material will be deposited in dump.

at the end of the day the table was full of material, with UC posed in front of the table and one bunch of others out there! Work for volunteers, but they are not complaining that 😀

financed by the Regional Council, the General Council of Vaucluse, the Hall of Bédoin and worn by the MJC de Bédoin , ERIC – Bédoin ECG exists since 2004. Since July, 2012, ERIC has increased its commitment in sustainable computing and contributes to the advancement of free software. The project has received the label ECG Vaucluse of the General Council.


the ERIC organizes individual workshops in computer literacy and Internet, discovery of free software, “hits of hands” have been implemented.


an empty ink cartridges recycling campaign was born. Audiences without Internet connection at home continued to receive services and equipment of the ERIC .


about 120 people moved to the EJM to participate in this event dedicated to the collection of used computer equipment. More than 100 computers, printers and various WEEE ( waste of electrical and electronic equipment ) have been collected.


two cheques for a total of €110 were given to the school cooperatives of Bédoin following the sale of ink cartridges empty. Two reconditioned computers were on sale for the benefit of the Telethon 2016.


Sunday morning on the way back there was Courthezon. A passage to greet Amaury and Alan was needed!

Philippe dealing with space ERIC gave me of regional products (Yes, we’re still in the vineyards of Mont Ventoux) prior to departure. The bottles arrived in good condition and will receive the honors they deserve 😉
