Android 7.0 Nougat: LG reimburses the Nexus 5 X blocked by updating

after Nexus 5 X have been rendered useless by update to Android 7.0 Nougat , the manufacturer LG announced to the users involved blocked smartphones will be refunded in full.

in September, we learned that of many Google Nexus 5 X were unusable after having been updated to Android 7.0 Nougat . The problem was due to a hardware fault and prevent the user to go further than the boot screen. The phone was blocked and would not start. So impossible to enjoy all new features to the BONE .

Nexus 5 and 5 X have been built by LG, the Korean manufacturer has finally decided to take things in hand and offers consumers to pay the full price of their smartphones damaged by the update. The company has indeed sent a message to customers who had sent their terminals in repair.

full refund

, the message was published by an Internet user on Reddit . In this one, LG writes the following thing:

[…] we are sorry to learn that you have difficulties with your LGH790 and we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to take advantage of a repair under warranty. We have received your device, but one of the parts required for the repair is currently out of stock and is no longer available.

to address this problem, we would refund you the full price of your device. […]

the manufacturer’s response should satisfy users despite a bit too long a response time. Fortunately for LG that this controversy had not the same magnitude as the one that struck my compatriot Samsung the Galaxy notes 7 explosives .
