Motorola is still alive and here is the proof

when Lenovo announced earlier this year “the end of the Motorola brand”, keeping just the word “Bike” for its main lines of smartphones, one thing was certain: the strength of the name of American society wouldn’t lose its force. Nearly a year after announcing that it would invest in two different series and two new devices to bear my name, the Chinese company made walking back with its latest smartphone and will invest ultimately in the brand “Motorcycle” and abandon Lenovo.

Let’s face it, regardless of the position of Lenovo in computers market, smartphones have never been its point hard. It’s probably one of the reasons why the acquisition of Motorola – in addition to patents – was a godsend. These two brands seemed to be able to coexist and this was like this until January 2016 where Lenovo has finally settled as we we imagined the fate of the Motorola brand.

In the year 2016, Lenovo tried to give life to the Vibe range. The Lenovo Vibe K5 was a nice surprise with an excellent quality-price. In Brazil, there was a real success. However, Lenovo’s latest financial report shows that history does repeat itself not in all markets in which the company sells its devices.

The annual loss of Lenovo reached 12%. There is certainly an improvement over the previous quarter with growth of 20% and the bike Z seems to meet a certain success. I must also commend the originality of the terminal and the successful concept this time of the modular smartphone.

Lenovo takes its name on its own smartphones

according to our colleagues of Campaign Asia , the new Lenovo launches should not bear the name “Lenovo” or “Vibe” but simply “Bike”. This isn’t very surprising in the end since the Motorola brand has much more strength, especially in Western countries. The simple return of the “Hello, Moto” would permanently mark the importance of the brand. Can you imagine listening to instead, a “Hello Vibe” in the future?

you know yet nothing what happen to the family “Vibe” but everything suggests that there will be more devices associated with the brand in the near future. In fact, the launch of the new bike M seems to anticipate this decision because it is a hybrid device between the Vibe and motorcycle lines.

If you are a follower of the company that designed the glorious RAZR V3, this decision shows we still force Motorola, and this despite the fact that the brand is now owned by Lenovo.

What do you think of the decision of Lenovo to invest only in the “Bike” brand?
