In this article, I’ll use a phone on Android (overlay MIUI) and a PC Windows 10 as an example. Even if you have a different mobile (iPhone or Windows Mobile) or a different operating system (Windows 7, Windows 8.1 …), do not worry, the method is substantially the same!

Step 1: turn on Bluetooth on the PC (Windows)

First step, activate the Bluetooth connection on the PC:

  • to Windows 7 : After installing the Bluetooth drivers from your PC, the Bluetooth is active all the time, you do not need to manually enable

  • .

  • to Windows 8 and 8.1 : open the Settings icon by pressing the Windows + i > change settings for the PC > wireless > Bluetooth and click the Bluetooth.

  • to Windows 10 : Click this link to learn how turn on Bluetooth on Windows 10

  • .

Step 2: turn on Bluetooth on the mobile (Android)

To turn on Bluetooth on your phone , refer to the manual of your operating system (Android, iOS or Windows Mobile). It is usually very simple to do. Eg Android, open the notification area.

then press the Bluetooth .

And that is all! The Bluetooth is activated on your mobile 🙂

Step 3: match the PC and the mobile

Once Bluetooth enabled on the PC and on mobile, we will combine both. To do this, open the settings of your phone .

Go to the section Bluetooth .

Your PC should appear in the Devices . If it does not, click Refresh to search for devices that are nearby.

Once detected your PC, click the name of it ( PIERRE-RENNES in the screenshot below) to start twinning .

An association request window opens with a association code . He makes sure that it is a mobile application that connect to your PC.

Click Log .

Turn on Windows. A notification Add Device should appear. Click it.

The PIN device requesting the connection appears. Make sure that it is the same number as the one displayed on your phone. If this is the case, click Yes .

That’s it! Your PC and phone are now associated via Bluetooth 🙂

You can delete at any time pairing by clicking the button Remove device (on Windows 10). You can also do this directly from your mobile.

Step 4: Send your files (eg. Photos) Mobile to PC

We now send our files from the phone to the PC . For this, we need to position Windows “receiving files”. You can not send files from your phone if Windows is not in this position “receiving files”!

To enable this position, go to the Windows settings 10 and click on the link Send or receive files via Bluetooth .

And click Receive files .

You can also do this from the Tray . Click the arrow to display all icons in the notification area.

Right click the icon Bluetooth and select Receiving file.

Windows is now waiting for a connection , ready to receive data.

Turn on your mobile. Select the files you want to send then press the Email .

Press Bluetooth .

then select your PC by clicking on his name.

on Windows as on the phone, the transfer your files starts .

And now, your files have been transferred from your phone to your PC !
